First Time Guests

You'll Find Answers To Your Questions Here...

What Can I  Expect as a First-Time Guest?

OPEN HEARTS, OPEN MINDS & OPEN DOORS! A warm welcome, excellent music, an engaging message and lots of smiles.

Located in a former movie theater complex, Edgewater is an exciting and unique place.  You will be encouraged to fill out a card so we can properly thank you for being our guest.

What's Unique About Edgewater?

Edgewater is NOT stuffy.  Come as you are!  Shorts are welcome - we care more about you than the way you dress. The messages are designed to help you apply the Bible's teachings to your daily living.  You may laugh, cry, ponder or all three as you discover the ways in which God wants to be involved in your life and IS already involved in your life.

What Happens During a Contemporary Worship Service?

Our contemporary worship services are held in our Worship Center (the first room on your left) at 6:00 PM on Saturdays and at 9:30 and 11:00 AM on Sundays.

The atmosphere is upbeat and joyful.  The music ranges from high energy celebration to soft moments of worship.  Messages are practical and easy to understand.  Witness statements, video clips and dramas are often included.

Communion is offered the first Sunday of each month and every Saturday night 6:00 PM Worship time.  We invite everyone to participate.

What is a Traditional Service Like?

This Sunday service is held in the Chapel (the third room on your left) at
8:00 AM.

The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.  The service contains classic worship elements - an Affirmation of Faith, Hymns, the Doxology and Gloria Patri, Scripture readings and a message.

Communion is offered the first Sunday of each month.  We invite everyone to participate.

CAN YOU HELP ME UNDERSTAND THE LAYOUT OF YOUR BUILDING?

Please pardon our dust!  The building is currently undergoing repairs from damage caused by Hurricane Charley.  We are also taking this opportunity to renovate additional portions of the building to provide more space for our expanding ministries and growing congregation.

When you walk through the sliding glass doors you will enter our 2,500 square foot Lobby and welcoming center.  You will notice a glass door ahead on your right that leads to our current Nursery and Jr. Children's Church.  These ministries will move to the new children's wing soon.

THE HUB, our student ministry game room is located upstairs.  The student ministry office is also upstairs.

From the lobby you can easily move up the large hallway.  The first room on your left is our Worship Center. Our Contemporary Worship Services meet here on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings.  High school Youth Group meets here on Sunday nights.  Middle school Youth Group meets here on Wednesday nights.

The first room on your right will soon be our Gym/Fellowship Hall.  Basketball, volleyball, Sunday morning refreshments, banquets and children and student ministry activities will take place here.

The second room on your right will be our new Children's Ministry Center.  This area will include a family restroom, crib nursery, toddler nursery and rooms for children's Sunday School and Children's Church.

The second room on your left houses our Bike Ministry and Food Pantry.

The third room on your left is our Chapel where the Traditional Worship Service is held.

The third room on your right is a flexible space for classes and small groups.  Children's Church and Sunday School currently meet in this room on Sunday mornings.

The temporary door at the end of the hall leads to what will become our new Worship Center and the new home of our contemporary worship services.

You will find this information printed on a card that can be found on the lobby brochure rack.
